Bad things happen
Truth #1- bad things happen Trust #2 - good things will follow. When I was young and learned how to ride a bike, bad things happened. I fell, I got scrapes and I was scared. But once I learned and faced the 'bad' I was able to ride freely. I could go to the park with my friends, launch off ramps and have a new freedom away from my parents. Good does come out of the bad. I have continued to learn this though life my divorce - I learned how to better communicate and love deep
Do the Burpees
I was taking a very challenging body sculpt class last week and the instructor was pushing us hard. We got a point where she was going to give us “flex” time. She got us set up for a series of 3 exercises (11 burpees, 30 squats and 40 lunges) over one minute for each exercise. And we were on our own. Her comment... challenge yourself to hit these numbers AND remember you are only accountable to yourself.... UGH those words - accountable!!! Why are we so afraid of accountabi
Catch a Wave
Laird Hamilton is a world-famous surfer of the BIG waves.... you know the ones that are HUGE and scary and that basically no one else will face. How does he do it? In an interview he commented that one of the keys to his success is commitment. When he is out in the ocean facing the wave, he needs to be 100% committed. If he hesitates or doubts for even a second, he will fail. He continued to state that even when he is committed, he still may fail - but at least he has a shot
Anchors Away
When a boat is in the harbor and wants to stay safe it drips its anchor. This helps to insure it doesn’t float away or move into unsafe territory But when that boat is ready to sail, it can’t go anywhere unless it raises the anchor. The captain can have a plan, the crew can be ready, and the weather can be perfect for sailing.... but nothing will happen with the anchor still in the water This happens to us too. We make a plan and get ready but we still hold on. We hold on
