Driving with the Brakes on

I remember the first time I was driving through the mountains. As I came over the summit and declined, I wanted to continually press the brake in the car. It made me feel safer, as if I had more control. The problem was as I "rode the brake" it was damaging the car. It was not keeping me safe, but rather opening me up for future damage.

We do this in life and business too - we tread with caution telling ourselves we are "playing it safe' when in truth we are only damaging ourselves for future greatness.

Don't misunderstand, being thoughtful and strategic is good, but having too much caution and not taking chances can keep us from growing into the greatness we are meant to be. if we hold on to the brake too often, we could be holding ourselves back from what we really should be accomplishing and we may miss out on some great opportunities.

So this week - don't drive with your brakes on. Be purposeful in what you do, and also allow yourself to go forward. Holding on to tight will cause you to have bigger issues down the road.
